2. Acceptance of Terms
By placing an order through cordeirovinos.com (the “Site”), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions, our Privacy Policy, and our Returns Policy.
3. Products
We sell premium Portuguese wines from renowned producers including Alves de Sousa, Casal da Coelheira, Lavradores de Feitoria, and Quinta da Devesa, among others. Product descriptions, vintages, alcohol content, and availability are provided in good faith but may vary between vintages or bottling batches; images are for illustration purposes and may differ slightly from the physical product delivered.
4. Age Restriction
Our products contain alcohol. By using this Site and placing an order, you confirm that you meet the legal minimum drinking age in your country of residence and in the destination country of delivery (for example: 18 in Portugal, the European Union, and the United Kingdom; 20 in Japan). We reserve the right to request proof of age and to refuse or cancel any order where this cannot be verified.
5. Consumer and Trade (HORECA) Customers
This Site serves two distinct categories of customers, calculated per reference (per wine/SKU):
- Final Consumers: Purchasing up to 12 bottles of the same reference at retail consumer prices.
- HORECA / Trade Customers: Commercial entities (restaurants, hotels, importers, distributors, sommeliers) purchasing more than 12 bottles of the same reference at wholesale prices, subject to trade account verification and, where applicable, a distinct trade agreement. HORECA customers are not classified as “consumers” for the purposes of the statutory right of withdrawal described in our Returns Policy.
6. Prices and Payment
All prices are displayed in Euros (EUR), inclusive of Portuguese VAT (IVA) for consumer orders, unless stated otherwise. If you complete a transaction in another currency, the conversion is performed automatically by our payment processor, Stripe, at its prevailing exchange rate at the time of checkout; we do not control or guarantee this rate. We reserve the right to correct any pricing errors prior to order acceptance.
7. Orders and Contract Formation
An order placed on the Site represents an offer to purchase. The contract is officially formed only when we issue a formal order confirmation email. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order at our discretion, including in cases of pricing inaccuracies, suspected fraud, or failure to verify legal drinking age.
8. Delivery and International Shipping
We ship to Portugal, European Union countries (including Germany), the United Kingdom, and select international destinations including Japan. Estimated delivery windows are provided for guidance only and are not guaranteed. For international orders outside the EU, the recipient is responsible for any import duties, excise/alcohol taxes, and customs clearance requirements imposed by the destination country, unless explicitly stated otherwise at checkout. Customers are responsible for verifying local personal import quantity allowances prior to placing an order.
9. Right of Withdrawal
Consumers within the European Union have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal from the date of physical receipt of goods, in accordance with Portuguese Decree-Law no. 24/2014. 10. Intellectual Property
All content on this Site—including brand names, logos, technical sheets, product photography, and text—is owned by or licensed to Cordeiro Viegas, Sociedade Unipessoal Lda[cite: 1] and may not be reproduced, copied, or distributed without our prior written consent.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim arising from your use of the Site or purchase of products is limited to the exact purchase price paid for the relevant order. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for delays and failures caused by customs authorities, international postal carriers, or events beyond our reasonable control.
12. Complaints and Dispute Resolution
If you are dissatisfied with our service, please contact us first at comercial@cordeirovinos.com. In accordance with Portuguese law, you may also submit a formal complaint via the electronic complaints book (Livro de Reclamações Eletrónico) at www.livroreclamacoes.pt. EU consumers may also utilize the European Commission’s Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with Portuguese law. Any dispute shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Portuguese courts, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection regulations applicable in your country of residence.
14. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms from time to time. The version in effect at the exact time of order placement shall govern the transaction.
